Excellent property with beach access, great snorkeling and perfect for relaxation

 Have been to Cayman a few times (including extended stay 20 years ago) and decided to try Rum Point area.  Could not have been happier with choice.  Rum Point is the laid back Caribbean I remember as contrasted to the busier Seven Mile Beach area that feels more like Miami than Cayman.  Property is nicely decorated and comfortable with ocean view and beach.  Great snorkeling right off the property.  We saw eagle ray, octopus and plentiful marine life right there.  Diving was arranged by Red Sail Sports (right next door)  and did a great job although most dive sites are a short 20 min drive to deeper water location for diving.   Although, north wall dives leave from Rum Point  area.   The Retreat (aptly named) was perfect base for us in laid back area of the island and we  had no problem accessing entire island with rental car.  Enjoyed stopping at various local "fish fry" hut between destinations for fresh fish often right on the beach.  Owner of property is fantastic and was very helpful and was prompt in reply to questions.  Property is well kept and well stocked - we wanted for nothing.  Would stay at this property again (really never wanted to leave).

 We love staying at Rum Point!!! The retreat#33 has a breathtaking view off the lanai ,master bedroom and living room. The Beach is beautiful and steps away from the condo the water is very calm for those with young children and great snorkeling. The condo was very clean and spacious and feels very open with the cathedral ceilings. The owner Belle is extremely nice and strives to make sure your stay is perfect. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks for making our vacation stay perfect!! Jenn

Great Host and terrific place!

 We spent a week there and loved the condo and the surroundings!  The condo was very clean and comfortable, and the owner is exceptionally responsible and responsive!  We had the place mostly to ourselves which was great.  We love the location away from the crowd.  Swimming is better on the other side of the pier, but if it is not too windy, you can snorkel and see nice things right outside the condo!  We rented higher end snorkel gear next door at the dive shop.  You have to haggle but they ultimately gave us a great price for the week, and we did a lot of snorkeling and wanted the life vests etc..  They also have snorkeling flags, which we did not get but would likely if we went again.   We took the kayaks to starfish beach -- that was a lot of fun, but be careful as coming back is much harder than going!    The best part of the retreat is sitting out near the point and just enjoying the view and excellent breeze.  We vrbo all the time and we would rent this unit again!  You have to have a car and try not to arrive on Sunday.  Driving on the other side of the road is not too bad - you have to spend a bit of time practicing in your head and you have to know the traffic circle regulations.  :-)
